The main technology for growing amaranth is planting seedlings, which can be planted in an apartment or greenhouse. Experts advise on how to grow amaranth seedlings. This requires:

  1. Use a special soil consisting of 3 parts of humus and 1 part of sand, which must be disinfected.
  2. As containers for growing seedlings, take boxes made of wood or ceramic pots, the height of which is more than 10 cm.
  3. The containers must have holes to drain excess moisture.
  4. When sowing seeds, the depth of their incorporation into the ground is up to 2 cm.
  5. The container with the planted seeds is covered with foil.

To get seedlings of apex, seeds are sown at the end of March. They are deepened by one and a half to two centimeters and placed in a warm (about 22 ° C) and bright room, periodically moistening with a spray bottle.   2. The soil is best prepared from a mixture of peat, leaf humus and soil from the garden. It is important to add ash and superphosphate to the mixture.

As a container for seedlings, plastic containers or ordinary pots up to 10 cm high are suitable. Seeds are covered in moist soil by 1.5-2 cm, then the pots are placed in a warm, bright place. Crops are irrigated with a sprayer, the optimum temperature for sprouting is about 22 ºC.

If all these conditions are met, seedlings will appear in less than a week. When the amaranths sprout, thin them out, getting rid of weak shoots, and when three leaves appear on the shoots, plant them in personal pots with a diameter of 12 cm.
