Kindness Lessons

The story of Valentin Rasputin "French Lessons" is, first of all, a story about human kindness. In it, the author talks about his difficult school years spent away from home and about the French teacher, who forever remained in his memory as a symbol of kindness. The story is told from the perspective of an eleven-year-old boy who is forced to leave his native village for the regional center in order to get an education. The action took place in the post-war years, when many families lived on bread and water. So their family lived, with difficulty overcoming hunger and eating only edible roots from the earth and the eyes of sprouted potatoes. Being the eldest child in the family, he tried to help his mother in everything. However, with his departure to the city, he had to save enough food so that there was little left for the parcel.

Soon he began to notice that the parcels reached him half empty. He guessed that the noisy neighbor Aunt Nadya was stealing food in order to feed her three children, but he was silent. In order to somehow earn a glass of milk, the boy began to play "chika" for money with high school students. After several losses, he started to win, which was a big help for him. The leader of the company, seventh grader Vadik, often cheated in order to pocket most of the money. When the boy tried to convict him of this, he was beaten. This was noticed by Lidia Mikhailovna, a French teacher and class teacher. Having found out the cause of the boy's bruises, she suggested that he come to additional French lessons, especially since this subject was poorly given to him. So at least she could feed the boy for dinner from time to time. Moreover, she sent him a package of food supposedly from her mother, but he quickly guessed what was the matter and refused any help.

Then Lydia Mikhailovna, without thinking about the consequences, suggested that he play for money in the "wall". She imperceptibly succumbed to this game so that he would win. Once, when he noticed that she was cheating not in her favor, he became indignant, after which she became even more cunning so that he would win money. One day, in the midst of a game, they did not notice how the principal of the school, who lived behind the wall, entered. Lydia Mikhailovna was fired, and she was forced to leave for her native land, the Kuban. From there, she sent the boy another package with pasta and apples at the bottom. The boy was incredibly happy with the apples, because he had never tried them, but only saw them in the picture. In my opinion, the story "French Lessons" demonstrates a true example of human disinterestedness and selflessness. And teachers like Lidia Mikhailovna are remembered for a lifetime.

Fiction is aimed at training, education and enlightenment. The lessons of kindness in the story "French Lessons" raise the problem of morality, philanthropy. The meaning of the theme is eternal, only kindness keeps a person for many centuries, does not allow him to turn into soulless creatures.

different families

The boy lives with Aunt Nadia. The woman has three children: two girls and a boy. Someone else's aunt is inattentive. She is only concerned about her children, a strange boy, whom she was entrusted with for the duration of her studies, finds herself in a difficult situation. Transfers with food from the mother quickly disappear. Aunt Nadia's children or the woman herself are slowly stealing food from the boy. Hunger pushes people to search for food. The child begins to play "chika". He needs money for milk and bread. One mother goes out of her way to educate her child. Another robs an orphan without thinking where he will find his means of life. Kindness and cruelty, care and insensitivity live side by side.

Kindness Lessons

The lesson of a good attitude towards people is clearly shown in the image of a teacher. A 25-year-old girl is morally superior to an experienced man who is entrusted with the school. He is only interested in his own position: a large apartment, calmness and severity. We must not forget about the time described in the book. difficult post-war years. It would seem that the war made everyone good. Children had to live better than their parents, not to repeat their mistakes. But the war embittered many, made them cruel egoists.

A real teacher is a kind, frank and open person. He does not pass by children's problems.

story lessons

The lessons of kindness from Lydia Mikhailovna do not have to be taken only, as the plot of the story suggests - the relationship between teacher and student. The plot is easy to transfer to an adult and a child. Lydia could be a neighbor, a high school student. Reasoning will help to understand the meaning of the text - this is any attentive person. The lesson is understanding. The narrator realized that one should not become cruel and adapt to the conditions dictated by circumstances. The teacher showed that there are people who are ready to selflessly help, they give hope for the future. The one who has been helped gains strength himself and helps others. This is how humanity moves. The story teaches to believe in kindness and shows how easy it is to be needed by people living nearby. Sometimes an apple, a word or a look is enough and the problem goes away.

Introduction

It is fair to apply the name “lessons of kindness” to V. Rasputin’s autobiographical story “French Lessons”. For the main character, the most significant thing in childhood was not learning a foreign language, but the caring attention with which the teacher treated him. The kindness of Lydia Mikhailovna allowed the boy to believe that not all people are evil and ruthless. In whatever difficult situation a person finds himself, one should never lose hope for help and sympathy.

Unfortunate fate

A little boy starts an independent life very early in the district center. Here he has to rely only on his own strength. Parcels of food rarely come from the village. The protagonist tries to spend them sparingly, but notices that someone is stealing food from him. The boy rightly suspects an acquaintance of his mother, with whom he lives. This greatly undermines his faith in the kindness of people.

The boy feels like an outcast. Timid and shy by nature, he is very ashamed of his worn country clothes. Silence and isolation of the protagonist are intensified due to constant feeling hunger. "Skinny wild boy" does not even hope for anyone's sympathy.

Ruthless Lessons

Starting to play for money in "chika", the boy realized that he was taking a huge risk. For this, he could easily be expelled from school, which would have been a heavy blow for his mother. However, the danger was not only in this.

Luck in the game turned into trouble. The boy had to "own his own skin" to learn the harsh rule of life: "Never forgave anyone if he breaks ahead in his business." "Lucky" was severely beaten and forbidden to take part in the game.

Another important "lesson" the boy received at school. Tishkin's betrayal did not fit in his head. The protagonist was sure that Lidia Mikhailovna would take him to the director, where he would be forced to confess to doing a "dirty business."

Kindness Lessons

To the great surprise of the boy, Lidia Mikhailovna did not scold him. The teacher simply asked about the game and how he spends the winnings. The child, of course, did not yet understand how amazed the woman was that he needed money to buy milk. He could not believe that there would be no punishment for the "crime" and easily made a promise to stop gambling.

In the face of Lidia Mikhailovna, the boy for the first time in a new place encountered a humane attitude. The teacher appeared before him not as a strict teacher, but as a good and close person.

Unlike other teachers, Lidia Mikhailovna felt that a capable student needed some help. The school gives him knowledge, but does not provide any support in life. Punishment will only embitter the emerging personality and teach to see adult enemies in all.

Lidia Mikhailovna takes up the matter very delicately. Through extra activities at her home, she hopes to get to know her child better and earn his trust. In addition, French lessons should become a solid goal for the boy in life, helping to believe in his own strength.

To the chagrin of Lydia Mikhailovna, the proud child categorically refuses food and gifts. It is absolutely impossible to persuade him to accept disinterested help. Too obvious "lessons of kindness" are wasted.

The teacher goes to the trick. She easily manages to arouse in the child an interest in playing "walls". Imperceptibly yielding, Lidia Mikhailovna gives him the opportunity to honestly "earn" the necessary ruble.

As expected, the headmaster, having caught the teacher and the student playing for money, could not appreciate the significance of this “lesson of kindness”. Yes, he does not care about the hunger and unhappy life of one of the students. Lidia Mikhailovna is fired. She takes full responsibility for "this stupid case" on herself.

The teacher does not forget about the boy and after some time sends him a parcel with food that he can no longer return. sent apples main character sees for the first time in his life.

Conclusion

The significance of the “lessons of kindness” was fully appreciated by the author only many years later. For the rest of his life he kept the warmest memories of Lidia Mikhailovna, who became for him the embodiment of kindness and humanity. The main lesson of the French teacher is that you need to help people in need of support. This allows you to hope and believe that you will not be abandoned in difficult times.

In the story “French Lessons”, the author reveals the image of the teacher Lidia Mikhailovna, who teaches the hero of the work a real lesson in kindness. In the center of the story is a boy who came to the district school from the village. He comes from a poor family, is constantly malnourished, wears old clothes and teals that no one else walks in and of which he himself is ashamed. The boy is very homesick and cannot get comfortable in a new place. Playing for money with local boys helps him to improve his position a little - he starts to win. However, the leader of the company, Vadik, quickly regains the lead, beating the lucky boy with a friend and kicking him out of the game.

Despite all the hardships of life, the hero is a very smart and quick-witted boy. In the village, he was considered a literate, which is why the mother decided to gather her strength and send her son to study. French is given to him easily, like other subjects, but the boy can not cope with the pronunciation. Lidia Mikhailovna nevertheless draws attention to a smart student who is poorly dressed. It is she who first sees the bruises that the hero receives as a result of his financial victories, and learns about the game for money. She quickly understands why the boy needs money, she sees that he went to the “dirty business” only because of his difficult situation.

Lidia Mikhailovna decides to help the boy. She deliberately loads him with extra activities and tries to get closer to the student. But he does not give in and does not go towards her. The boy does not agree to stay for dinner with the teacher after class, quickly running away. He does not accept the package of pasta that Lydia Mikhailovna secretly leaves for the boy in the school locker room. Then she decides on a trick, offering the hero another, similar game for money. The boy learns quickly and starts to win. The teacher is pleased: the boy receives at least some help from her. And he is not so ashamed: he justifies himself by saying that this is an honest win.

It all ends with exposure: the headmaster of the school, her neighbor, unexpectedly comes to Lydia Mikhailovna and becomes a witness to the game. The teacher is fired for this misconduct. But, even having lost her job for a simple human desire to help a child, she takes the blame on herself and makes sure that this story does not affect the boy in any way. And after some time, the hero receives a parcel from his patroness - in addition to pasta, which the starving child perceives as a miracle, there are apples in it, which he has never even seen.

So Lidia Mikhailovna, with her care and generosity, shows that kindness is alive in people, but it happens that the desire to help someone is above their own interests. So the boy receives the main lesson - the lesson of kindness and self-sacrifice.

The power of goodness in the story of V. G. Rasputin "French Lessons"

The conversation with the teacher Lidia Mikhailovna after the lessons was not easy. However, he turned out to be a salvation, not a punishment for the boy. The teacher is young, "tidy all over, smart and beautiful." Kindness, sincere generosity and love for children are felt in it. The narrator was struck by the fact that Lidia Mikhailovna did not tell the director anything and did not complain about the student. Most of all, the boy was afraid of being expelled from school, knowing what pain this mother would bring.

Despite his promise, the hero starts playing again. Hunger drives him to it. Overcoming fear, he approaches the high school students who beat him. But after he was beaten again, the teacher began to study with him separately.

The package of pasta sent by Lidia Mikhailovna put the narrator in an awkward position. Yielding to her persuasion, he accepts the package, although he feels awkward.

Lidia Mikhailovna, who could not feed the student, came up with another trick, thanks to which the boy had money again. She began to play with him gambling, and the student often beat the teacher. Risking her job, she helped the boy survive.

The director, who learned about everything, forced Lidia Mikhailovna to leave, but the hero remembered her for the rest of his life. After all, her kindness, understanding, honesty, generosity were more important to him than a piece of bread. This teacher taught the boy the best lesson - the lesson of kindness.
